Recipe and Photo by Mom On Timeout.com I found this fun recipe on momontimeout and it really jumped out at me. I love root beer but never thought of cooking my pork roast with it. Doesn't it look delicious and is incredibly easy and quick in a slow cooker or crock pot. 2 lb. pork loin roast, 12 ounce can of root beer, 18 ounce bottle barbecue sauce, 8 hamburger buns, and your favorite recipe coleslaw (store bought is good too) Place the pork in the slow cooker. Pour the root beer over the pork roast. Cover and cook on low heat for 6 hours or until it shreds easily with two forks. Remove pork and shred it using two forks. Drain the liquid from the slow cooker. Return the shredded pork to slow cooker and stir in barbecue sauce. Continue heating on low for an additional 30 minutes. Serve on hamburger buns and top with coleslaw if desired. Makes 8 sandwiches. Happy Tuesday:) |
