Fat Tuesday is next Tuesday, February 25th this year, also known as Paczki Day. The last day to party before Lent begins.
Bakeries in our area began taking orders for Paczki's (pronunced pohnch-kee) weeks ago and there will be lines out the doors and down the street Tuesday to pick up these delicious treats.
Fried or baked rounds of dough filled with apricot, strawberry, prune, raspberry, lemon, Nutella, custard, chocolate or sweet cheese, then sprinkled with powdered sugar. Who wouldn't love this rich dough made with eggs and butter?
These gems are best enjoyed the day they are baked with your favorite coffee or tea.
