Heaven in a Hammock

Late Summer is fleeting and it's time to grab hold of every moment and savor!  If you don't own a hammock, check out the stores below for end of season sales.  We own rope style hammocks at our home, but there are so many types to select from.  

Rope hammocks are more popular in warm and hot climates.  You are kept cooler because the airflow isn't constricted. 

Fabric hammocks are ahead of the others in cooler climates inviting you to snuggle down with a pillow and blanket.  What an invitation to a lazy weekend.

Summer is in full swing, so get out and enjoy the beautiful weekends with your family and friends. Here are a couple of easy outdoor entertaining tips that will impress your guests.

Pick up slate tiles in great colors at your local Home Improvement store.  They can be used as great cost effective cheese boards.

Pick up a simple flower box, spray paint it a festive color to match your theme or mood, plug drainage holes if any, fill with ice and your favorite white wine.  Check out this Flared Wooden Window Box. You can find similar window boxes at your favorite home improvement store.  Check out homedepot or menards. 
  I love serving trays in woods and colors.  Use your serving tray as a cutting board or to showcase desserts.  Simple.

Tree House Project Complete!

Here is the unveiling of the latest project at the lake house! I am so proud of my husband and son for working together to build this magnificent tree house! The part I cherish most is when it's painted next week by my husband and father, it will hold the footprint of 3 generations of the wonderful men in my family. The photo on the top right is my husband in the planning stages last summer.  This involved countless hours of teaching himself carpentry and endless visits to Menards.

The happiness and screams of joy when our grandchildren saw this for the first time was priceless! They shouted, "Thank you Papa, this is the best tree house ever!" ... That makes it all worth the hours of work.
