As we continue to cope with the current difficulties of pandemic living, many of us have turned to reading books. Recently after too much time away, I masked up and visited our local bookstore Anderson's Books. I could literally spend hours checking out each section and felt happiness just walking in the door. It was like coming home again. I am guilty of owning more books than I will ever have time to read. Pictures below is a section of bookshelves in our home my husband built for me. I have them organized by cookbooks, holidays, books from our childhood, books signed by authors and more. When I find myself with free time, I go to my shelves to choose a book that will match my mood or give me a lift. Reading a book reduces stress, alleviates depression, and overall affects your life in a very positive way. Did you know reading a book 30 minutes a day can lower blood pressure and heart rate? Reading also promotes positivity and improves memory memory.
The holidays are just weeks away. Consider buying a book or series for that special someone who loves to read or is housebound and can't get out as often as they would like. A reading light or special bookmark is a thoughtful addition.
Most libraries are now open so please visit one today. Another book source is checking your neighborhood for a Little Free Library I am the proud owner of a Little Free Library in our yard and it has visitors almost daily taking a book and offering a book to share with our neighborhood and community. There is a map on their website online that will show you where the closest Little Free Library is to your home.
Happy Reading📚
My recent visit to Barnes and Noble
Great advice!

that I look forward to reading as I curl up on the couch with my favorite warm blanket this Fall.
