Kitchen Blooper

Pressing stuffing into the waffle maker.

They looked great in the waffle maker.

Tasted better than it looked!

It made a tasty open faced sandwich.

Have you ever wondered what to do with leftover stuffing? I thought stuffing would hold up if I used an ice cream scoop and pressed it in a preheated waffle maker. The answer.....not great! haha..  At least this time, but this won't deter me from trying it again. When I thought they were crisp enough to remove, I carefully lifted them out to place on our plate to assemble our sandwiches of cold sliced turkey, cranberry, and a layer of cream cheese. What I got were crumbling stuffing layers.  What we did was make the best of it and place the ingredients on top of the stuffing waffle, cut it up and enjoy.  Did it look perfect? NO!  Did it taste fabulous? YES!

Never hesitate to try new things in the kitchen. The best of chefs have learned this way.  Julia Child had to start somewhere, right?
