Let It Snow Let It Snow Let it Snow

r
There is a silence in the air when snow is falling. It makes us want to hibernate inside our homes as the snowfall wraps our home like a cocoon. Snow makes you slow down, enjoy peaceful moments, grab a cozy blanket to snuggle under with a mug of hot cocoa.
Hot cocoa and Bailey's topped with mini marshmallows, whipped cream and
sprinkles.

Did you know Spring is just 30 plus days away?

Enjoy the moments!

Brightening Up Winter Months

Winter months can be dark and dreary.  There are simple ways to bring light to your home and spirit.

We have hung lights over our patio that twinkle in the glow of the snow. These are inexpensive and easy to put up to enjoy all year long. They look beautiful on the fireplace mantel or around a hanging mirror too.  I love little twinkle lights from Target Wondershop. Stringing them over your kitchen or dining room table, across your front door entrance, drape them over your bar cart, or on a shelf or table will enhance the room and create a cozy look.

Candles add lighting to your room beautifully and there are so many to choose from.  I was given luminara real-flame effect candles as a gift for the holidays.  They add such a realistic light as it softly dances that you will swear it has a real flame.  They turn an ordinary day into a special event.

Remove the screens from your windows to let in unfiltered light.

Use brighter lightbulbs and switch out your lamp shades to a lighter brighter color for a nice change.

Buy bright pillows or light colored slipcovers for your furniture.

On another positive note, it's just 10 weeks until Spring.

Winter Reflection

~Just a Simple Blog~

Winter is nature's time to send us into hibernation.  A time for rest, and renewal.  A time to enjoy the comfort foods we love.  Gather and relax in the evenings with loved ones, gathering energy and strength from one another for the year ahead.  Enjoy coffee in your favorite chair and let your mind be quiet as you watch the snow fall.  Embrace the beauty of the sun shining like diamonds on the new fallen snow.  The winter should be a time for stillness and quiet.  As we will begin to come out of winter in a few weeks as the days lengthen, waken from your inner slumber in hopes of finding a renewed outlook and sense of purpose.

Happy weekend friends and a special birthday wish to Mary. Friends are a blessing💜
