Move Your Indoors Outdoors

We have turned our deck into an outdoor theater by streaming our favorite shows and movies from our IPAD or Smart Phone to our Smart TV. It's very simple to do and adds a whole other dimension to summer fun.

Early this summer we purchased a Solo Stove for our deck. Its efficient design and airflow allows you to enjoy a fire pit on a wooden deck.  We do use a fireproof pad under ours and we enjoy using it every chance we get. The stove is perfect for roasting marshmallows for s'mores.  When was the last time you roasted hot dogs over the open fire?

Adding a string of outdoor lights will bring illumination creating a cozy effect.

Place your deck chairs and loungers around the tv, gather your favorite snacks of popcorn, pretzels, dips, chocolates and favorite drinks, blankets if the night air is chilly and enjoy.  We are planning to use our deck until the snow falls.

It is officially summer until September 21 so do what you can to be outdoors as much as possible. Most of us in the Midwest have warm temperatures well into October so we take advantage of being outside as much as possible.

Have you done anything this summer to improve your outdoor life?

Outdoor Twister

Do you remember playing the game Twister when you were younger? Or are you still playing this laugh packed game?

Now you can play it outside and here's how.

Spray paint rows of circles on the lawn.  No worries about the Twister mat slipping when you use this method.  Either make a spinner or use the spinner from the original Twister game........

Right arm yellow, left leg blue!  So much fun for all ages😄

Our baby grandson is turning one this weekend and he is such a blessing to our family.  His laughter, giggles and never ending smiles are heart melting.  We love you sweet Peanut and wish you a special and happy first birthday with all of our love forever and a day💗

Happy Weekend!

Snow Play

One of the reasons I love Winter might be the way nature tells everyone to take a break and slow down from the rest of the busy seasons of life.  The fire from the fireplace feels warmer and the house seems cozier.  It enriches my soul to reconnect as a family with fireside talks, good food, hot chocolate (and Bailey's) and we all agree when the snow is coming down and the winds are blowing, we have a great excuse to stay in our pajamas all weekend long.

But, if you dare venture outdoors when the children get cabin fever, bundle up  and arm yourselves with Sno-Paint from Hearthsong.  The price is approximately $18.98 and included in the kit are 4 sprayer bottles, and 4 colors. Refills are available too.   It is as much fun for adults as the kids.  Check it out and grab a bottle of this environmentally friendly, pet friendly snow paint and release your inner artist on the new fallen snow. The colors disappear as the snow melts.

Have Fun!
