Festive Cocktails for your Holiday Party

Candy Cane Martini (Apartment Therapy)

This is so easy to make and super festive for the holidays! These measurements makes 1 Martini:  1 1/2 ounces vanilla vodka, 1/2 ounce peppermint schnapps, 1 ounce club soda, crushed candy canes for garnish.  To prepare:  Rim martini glass with crushed candy cane. Mix vodka, schnapps and club soda with ice in a cocktail shaker.  Strain into prepared glass.  Hang a candy cane on the glass for a festive look.

This recipe literally takes 4 minutes and will make 1 serving so modify for more cocktails as needed.  Ingredients are 1/2 cup strong black coffee, 2/3 cups eggnog, 1/3 cup milk, sugar, whipped cream or nutmeg (optional but so delicious).  To make:  Pour strong black coffee into a mug and add warmed eggnog/milk mixture.  You can warm in the microwave or stovetop.  Add a little sugar or sugar substitute to sweeten a bit.  Top off with whipped cream and a pinch of nutmeg.  If you are serving this in the evening, add a shot of rum or brandy for extra holiday cheer:)

Toast the Weekend

Toast Autumn with this Fall Martini

This is a favorite of mine I like to feature each season when the leaves begin to turn color and the temperatures begin to slightly drop.  It's one of my favorite times of the year.  So bring out the cozy blankets, and make your this delicious cocktail and cozy up with your favorite person this weekend. Enjoy!

Ingredients :

7 ounces pumpkin liqueur (Hiram Walker is a great choice but has seasonal availability

1 ounce black vodka

Blavod Black Vodka available at Binnys  is a nice choice or Absolut Black Vodka.

Another choice would be Smirnoff Black Vodka which is moderately priced and has a smooth and supple taste.

Pour pumpkin liqueur into 8 ounce martini glass.
Pour the  black vodka on top.  It will appear to float over the orange liqueur.

Martini for 2 in 2 minutes

Shaken, not stirred. If it's good enough for James Bond, it's good enough for me!

You need:
2 Martini glasses
Smirnoff Vodka
 Shaker
Vermouth
Lemon
Pimento stuffed olives

Fill the shaker with ice, 2 1/2 ounces Smirnoff 21 Vodka, 1/2 ounces vermouth.  Shake well and pour into chilled martini glass.  Garnish with lemon peel.  Skewer 2-3 olives and place in glass if desired.

CHEERS!
