As We Safely Gather for Easter

As so many of us are gathering for the first holiday together in over a year, it's important to remember safety first as we take our first step together.  The weather forecast for Easter looks to be 70 and gorgeous in the midwest. Our plan is to have our family scatter our chairs distanced in the yard. Normally we would each bring a favorite dish to pass and enjoy. Perhaps next year we can go back to that tradition.  I offered to make up individual charcuterie trays for each family member.  I found disposable two compartment containers with lids on Walmart.com as well as the brightly colored snack cups. The charcuterie trays will hold a variety of sliced deli ham, cheese slices, assorted crackers, grapes or strawberries and an Easter chocolate. Everyone can enjoy their tray at their leisure as well as a snack cup holding donut munchkins. My Dad is 88 years young, and still living in the house where myself and 4 siblings grew up. To be able to enjoy our Easter egg hunt in his yard means the world to us and to him.  So as we move forward in a safe and positive way, I wish all of you a very Blessed Easter.

Safely Entertaining over Labor Day

With limitations still in place how many people are allowed to safely gather, we are reminded this Labor Day looks different than others. With that in mind, let me help you with serving your family and friends a favorite of mine that can be modified to your liking.

I love serving a charcuterie platter when entertaining. It's made up ahead of time and allows me to visit and mingle.  This Labor Day I decided to purchase different size clear plant trays to be used as individual charcuterie dishes.  They're either disposable, washable, and very cost friendly.  For the pictures plates, I used sliced deli salami, Kerrygold cheese I sliced into small bites, green grapes, sliced peaches and nectarines, and assorted club crackers. Cashews or walnuts add nice crunch to your platter.  May I suggest adding the crackers before serving to avoid them becoming soggy on the plate.

You can feel good serving these trays no matter how small or large you want to make them.  Assemble the day before, cover and serve them with an ice cold beverage.  Capriccio Sangria is delicious with meat, cheese, and fruit platters and has been my summer favorite.  It's light yet bubbly but not overdone.

Wishing you a safe and relaxing Labor Day weekend friends♡
