I've grown fatigued of saying "things look different this year". You too? It's important to remember the world is not going to instantly improve because we are flipping the page on the calendar.
It's human nature to reflect on the past year and we all want to put it behind us. This New Year's Eve, why don't we make an effort to focus on this moment in time and enjoy just being in the present. It isn't easy because we are used to making our resolutions for bigger and greater things for the new year. We will naturally think about all we have been through and what we have learned this past year.
In a way, 2020 may have been our most positive years in several ways.
We have become more resourceful than we have ever been.
We have come to appreciate the outdoors more than we ever have.
Our neighbors have come together to watch out for one another.
Our homes have become more of a comfort than ever.
Many of us learned to garden and grown our own foods.
Making bread from scratch helped our nurturing side.
Families spent more time together than ever enjoying playing games, telling stories, cooking, and eating meals as a family.
We read more books.
We ate more chocolate.
We grew and shared more flowers.
We rediscovered and played more board games.
We are enjoying pajamas and workout clothes more than ever and loving the comfort of it.
We have shopped local small businesses more than ever.
We are thankful for our restaurant delivery services who are working hard to bring our favorite meals to us.
I know we all have our own lists but these are a few that come to my mind. Overall, past present and future, I am thankful for my family, friends, our continued good health and the safe birth of our new baby grandson during 2020. May you all have peace of mind, good health and the ability to stay in the moment. Much love and thank you for reading. See you next year.
